Hertz establishes customer care centre to help with Gulf clean-up
Hertz has announced that it will be assisting people travelling to the Gulf Coast area, intending to help with clean-up activities, by opening its Gulf Coast Customer Care Centre. The purpose of providing a dedicated care centre is so that those visiting the area will have trained company representatives to help with providing specialist vehicles, equipment and useful information.
Hertz also said that it has relocated hundreds of vehicles to the Gulf Coast region to meet with the demand from government officials, the Coast Guard and representatives of FEMA who are currently in the areas or travelling to the area.
Mark P Frissora, chairman and chief executive at Hertz, said that as soon as the crisis in the Gulf hit, Hertz was able to provide transport and equipment solutions to customers from the government and businesses. He added that with a Customer Care Centre offering one-stop-solutions, Hertz would be able to cope with the increasing demands of customers visiting the area.
According to the car hire giants, Hertz Equipment Rental is transferring trucks and buses to its offices in the area to help cope with demand. It has also put in a seven million dollar order for more equipment, Hertz said.
As well as assisting with the car hire needs of people coming to help with the clean-up, Hertz says its Customer Care Centre will also be available to those visiting the area for other reasons. The AAA claims that cancellations of trips to the Gulf are not down by as much as it expected, and that people were still travelling to the area for the national parks, the nightlife, the shopping and the fine dining.
