British drivers caught by foreign driving law crackdowns
Learning the road rules in the country of your holiday has never been more important.
Hundreds of drivers from Britain have been pulled over and fined in recent months by French police, for not having the requisite high-visibility jacket onboard.
The French authorities admit that they have been enforcing a crackdown on the legislation, especially to drivers entering the country via the port of Calais, the majority of which are Britons. The man at the centre of the identity crisis on Top Gear has been sacked.
Presenter Jeremy Clarkson confirmed what many believed was coming when he advised reporters that the man who made white racing overalls and a black-visored helmet famous was being let go.
The dismissal follows the recent failure of the BBC to seek an injunction that would prevent The Stig, otherwise now known to the world as Ben Collins, from revealing his identity, which the broadcaster maintains is integrated in his contract. Growing consumer confidence in the Asia-Pacific means a number of the region’s airlines have decided to jack up the price of tickets. Qantas, the Australian flag-carrier, announced last month that it would be increasing prices by three per cent on domestic and international travel. Singapore Airlines, following a dramatic increase in passenger demand, said it will be pushing fares up as of 1 October.

A passenger plane carrying 232 people had a near-miss with a private jet in the skies over London, according to report released by the Air Accidents Investigation Branch. A serious incident was narrowly avoided as a Turkish Airlines Boeing 777 and a Citation 525 jet, carrying two pilots and a single passenger, were both flying at around 4,000 feet.
