An inquest into the Potters Bar train crash, which resulted in the deaths of seven people on May 10 2002, has heard how a company boss tried repeatedly to warn staff that he thought something was wrong on the eve of the accident. Peter Prime said that he felt the train lurch near to where the crash happened the following day, and described the movement as being very unusual and worrying.

The booming car rental market in the UAE has seen Budget Rent-a-Car step up its operation.
Budget, one of the world leaders in car and van rental, has announced a new outlet for Skypark Plaza at Abu Dhabi International Airport. Skypark Plaza is the first car parking specialist provider in the region and has been designed to support one of the world’s most rapidly growing airports and dynamic business hubs.

A hotel being managed by Hilton has been temporarily shut down by Chinese police who are investigating possible links between hotel staff and a prostitution ring. The hotel is located in the Chongqing municipality in southwest China. China National Radio said that Qinglong Property Development Co, the owner of the hotel, is also being investigated by the authorities because of suspected links to the Chinese underworld and involvement in running a prostitution racket.

A new study has shown that a significant proportion of UK drivers would not admit to hitting a parked car.
Around 20 per cent of the nation’s drivers said quite freely that they would flee the scene if they happened to damage a parked vehicle. The online survey was undertaken by the UK insurer Elephant.
The poll canvassed 3,000 drivers as to what they would do in the event of causing a minor ding, with a further 20 per cent saying that the make and model of the car would dictate whether they would be honest enough to leave their name and [...]
