Hertz joins the Super’Stang Muscle Tour

The Hertz Corporation has announced it has teamed up with North America’s largest collision repair centre group, CARSTAR.
The leading car rental organisation will join with CARSTAR to promote this year’s edition of the Super’Stang Muscle Tour, and to celebrate Hertz will donate an ultra-rare 2007 limited edition Shelby GT-H Mustang convertible, made especially for the group by Carroll Shelby. The GT-H will travel alongside the symbolic CARSTAR 1967 Super’Stang for the season, with one lucky prize-winner eventually being able to take it home.

British Airways apologises for Bin Laden boarding pass

British Airways has apologised for the publication of a photograph in one of its staff magazines depicting a boarding pass on a mobile phone apparently belonging to a Mr Osama Bin Laden. In a prepared statement, BA said that it had not produced the image, that it had been taken from an internet image gallery and that unfortunately the details of the photograph had not been analysed very thoroughly.

British Airways reports fall in passenger traffic in May

British Airways has announced that passenger numbers in May fell by 11.5 per cent compared to a year ago. The airline is mainly blaming strikes by cabin crew for the fall in performance. BA has also reported a drop in business and first-class travel of 6.5 per cent. The premium sector is the most profitable part of the carrier’s passenger business.
Meanwhile, rival airline Air France-KLM has announced that its year-on-year passenger numbers for May were up by 4.3 per cent. The airline also said that traffic was increasing and that an overall improvement in economic conditions was the main reason.
