Potters Bar train accident relived by survivor

An inquest into the infamous Potters Bar rail crash has heard new evidence from a senior RAF officer. The inquiry was told by the man of how passengers ‘floated’ through the air as their rail carriage overturned.
Wing Commander Martin Rose told the inquiry that he was sure that he would not survive the accident, which saw the Kings Cross to King’s Lynn carriage leave the tracks in May 2002. Rose, who was on his way to his new job with the Marham RAF base, said the experience was like being in a tumble drier.

UK Holidaymakers recount nasty surprises

A new study has revealed just what nasty surprises have laid in store for UK vacationers. A disappointing standard of accommodation and unwanted additional extra charges were the most annoying annoyances reported in the survey, undertaken by Britain’s premier car hire comparison website carrentals.co.uk.
Some 1,500 people were queried on their vacation experiences by the survey, with 40 per cent of British holidaymakers stating that unexpected costs were top of the nasty surprise list. Disney confident that bookings will continue to increase

Disney has announced that it is seeing an increase in the number of bookings made at its theme parks. In May, Disney announced that the number of booking for its hotels was 10 per cent lower than it had been a year ago for the third-quarter beginning on April 4. However, the entertainment giant added that it had made similar predictions at the start of its second quarter of the year, and that bookings for the period had actually only dropped by six per cent.

Family Suites sues Viacom over breach of Nickelodeon agreement

A complaint has been filed in a New York court by Family Suites Resorts suing Viacom Inc for breach of contract, after it leased the Nickelodeon cable brand to a rival hotel group. Family Suites claims that it already has an exclusive deal with Viacom to market Nickelodeon themed hotels within an area of 150 miles surrounding its Nickelodeon Suites Hotel in Orlando, Florida.
