World-Cup demand boosts South African car rental fleets by 20%

As football fans throughout the world plan their trips to South Africa for the World Cup at the end of the month, car hire firm Holiday Autos has increased its fleet size by 20 per cent.
The biggest car hire agent in the world, Holiday Autos, has been working to keep up with demand and make more cars available during the busy World Cup period. The first vehicles to go were mini buses, campervans, minivans and SUVs, which are now almost sold out.

BA reduces services after court rules in favour of strike

British Airways customers are facing continued disruption to services, after the Court of Appeals upheld airline union Unite’s challenge to a ruling earlier this week, preventing its members from going on strike. British Airways has announced that in light of the court’s decision, it will be reinstating a schedule of reduced services.
British Airways said that it was disappointed that the court was allowing Unite to go ahead with its pointless and unjustified industrial action. Investigation continues into Emirates emergency landing in Kochi

Dubai-based airline Emirates is awaiting the results of an investigation into why one of its jets suddenly lost height during turbulence and had to make an emergency landing in Kochi. The aircraft was said to be flying at 35,000 feet over the Indian city of Bangalore, when it dropped a reported 200 feet, injuring 23 passengers on board. 14 crew and 350 passengers were on board when the incident occurred.
