A study from price comparison company moneymamix has revealed that car hire companies are not providing customers with the most reasonable vehicle insurance.
Moneymaxim is a website where customers in the UK can compare car hire insurance prices. Research from moneymaxim found car hire insurance purchased straight from rental companies to be one of the most costly types of insurance around.
Which? published research in January that showed how insurance costs and hidden cover details on cars rentals can crop up when hiring overseas. Following further Research, Moneymaxim has advised customers to shop around and purchase car hire insurance before travelling abroad.

Premier car hire company, Avis UK, showed its support for National Car Crime Awareness Week yesterday by giving advice on security and car safety to motorists.
To launch the start of Car Crime Awareness Week, Avis UK gave its top five tips for motorists to stay safe and away from criminals. Avis started the list by stating the obvious and suggesting that when a vehicle is parked, it is important to make sure it is locked. In a move aimed at attracting more tourists to the Gulf, Emirates has announced plans to offer an online visa service to its passengers. It is hoped that the service will encourage more visitors to the region from countries which are not currently eligible for a visa on arrival, such as Egypt and India.
Passengers wishing to obtain a visa can apply online when they book their airline tickets. Visas can be obtained for stays of 96 hours or 30 days.

The decision to close airports in the UK on Monday, because of the continuing eruption of the eyjafjallajokull volcano, has been slammed by airlines. A number have called the systems used to track the spread of the plume of ash being produced by the volcano, inappropriate and outdated.
