Hertz announces new Oman Air partnership

The largest general use car rental company in the world, Hertz, today unveiled a new partnership with respected airline Oman Air.
In a move tailored towards loyalty club members that belong to Oman Air’s Sindbad Frequent Flyer Programme, Hertz will introduce a range of discounted rates and access to special offers in the key market destinations of the carrier.
Beginning on June 1st, 2010, Sindbad Frequent Flyer members that are travelling on Oman Air are entitled to accrue 500 Sindbad Miles per each standard car rental on the range of eligible vehicles. Members can also earn up 1,000 Sindbad miles when they [...]

San Antonio car rental brands combine shuttle services

Car rental giant, Enterprise Holdings, has decided to combine the shuttle bus service offered by its brands at San Antonio International Airport. Enterprise runs Alamo Rent A Car, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and National Car Rental at the airport, and said that by merging its shuttle services, it would help the airport to reduce traffic congestion.

Women are more modest when holidaying at home

A study by one of the country’s leading department stores has revealed that modesty prevails for women planning to holiday at home this year. In an attempt to understand its customers differing beach wear preferences, depending on where they were holidaying, Debenhams found that less revealing options were favoured by those who planned to hit British beaches this summer.

New data analysis helps locate Air France Flight 447

New technology being used by officials trying to locate the whereabouts of an Air France jet which crashed into the sea last year, killing everyone on board, suggests that the aircraft may have performed a u-turn before the accident. New analysis of the pinging signals given off by the jet’s black-box flight recorders indicates that the airplane may have doubled back on itself.
