For the first time in three years, popular car rental broker Holiday Autos is to launch a UK advertising campaign.
The campaign will centre on the group’s wise and reliable choice for discerning customers, one which champions the consumer in the increasingly cutthroat car hire industry. The new ads will feature Wheelz, the existing brand character, with the tagline ‘we go further’. The campaign hopes to identify points of difference from Holiday Autos to its competitors as the crowded rental market vies for summer signings.

The plume of volcanic ash being spewed out of Iceland is continuing to cause problems for airlines. The cloud is now 1,400 miles from side to side and 2,100 miles long. Most of the ash is spread out over the North Atlantic and covers an area stretching from Greenland to Portugal.
In an attempt to avoid the volcanic cloud, a number of airlines have rerouted their transatlantic flights to the north and the south. However, this has started to cause some congestion as the routes are become clogged with traffic. The diversions have also added to passengers’ journey times.

The leader of the Lib Dems, Nick Clegg, and the Conservative leader, David Cameron, met for a second time in Parliament yesterday to continue discussions on the possibility of forming a government. Mr Clegg has also had a meeting at the Foreign Office with Labour leader Gordon Brown to talk about a potential deal.

Despite indications that the number of drivers who use their mobile phones while on the road is increasing, many of them are being let of the hook. New figures indicate that for the third year in succession, the number of people convicted of using a phone while behind the wheel of a vehicle has fallen.
According to the Home Office, in England and Wales during 2008/2009 there were 116,000 instances of prosecutions of drivers for the offence. This represents a decline of five per cent from 2007/2008 and of the 2006/2007 figure of 167,000. The Department for Transport has attributed much of the fall [...]

Conservative leader David Cameron will be eager today to confirm that he has the backing of the Liberal Democrats to become the country’s next Prime Minister. Over the weekend, members of both parties were locked in discussions at the Cabinet Office. After six hours of talks, William Hague, the shadow foreign secretary, emerged saying that things had gone well.
