Further delays ahead for the M60

For the second time in just four months, the M60 around Manchester is to be dug up for repairs and maintenance, meaning further delays for motorists.
The six-mile length of the road, laid a decade ago, is to be resurfaced at the area around the Middleton junction 19 to junction 23 at Ashton-under-Lyne. In December last year, following the opening of a number of cracks in the road’s surface, the same stretch or road was placed under investigation by the Highways Agency. Avis Europe dubs 2010 the year of the experience holiday

In 2009, the big travel trend was the ‘staycation’, as the effects of the recession forced many people into stay-at-home vacations. Now, according to Avis Europe, 2010 will be the year of the so-called ‘experience holiday’. The reason for the declaration is a recent survey undertaken by the hire car company.

Thomas Cook announces 2011 holiday deals

Travel agent, Thomas Cook, has announced that it will be guaranteeing more than one million holidays for next year’s summer, at the same price or lower than they are this year. Thomas Cook’s sister brand, Airtours, has also announced that it will be offering customers an early booking discount for 2011 if they make their booking before August 31st this year. Airtours claims that customers can make savings of up to £200 if they do so.

Lufthansa, BA and Air France spruce up first class ahead of World Cup

Lufthansa is preparing to unveil its new first and business class cabins. The unveiling will take place next month, and Michael Oakey, an aircraft interior design expert, says that the carrier has gone for a contemporary design rather than something more flashy and futuristic. He said that the cabin interiors will bring to mind luxury cars and private jets.
