Sixt rent a car has announced its arrival at all of the terminals at London Heathrow Airport. Sixt, one of the leading independent car rental organisations in Europe, opened the new facilities last month, with new desks debuting in terminals 1, 3 and 4.
Terminal 5, home to British Airways, will have a dedicated free telephone service which provides direct connections to both the UK Reservations Team call centre and also the Sixt Heathrow car rental centre. Over the coming months, a new interactive touch-screen booking system will also be introduced.

The disruption to flights across the north of Europe is set to continue today and could stretch into the weekend as a the plume of ash created by the eruption of the volcano beneath the Eyjafjallajoekull glacier in Iceland fails to disperse. A lack of wind also means that the plume is progressing slowly in an easterly direction.
As well as a closure of airspaces over Ireland, the UK, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Sweden and the Netherlands, France also closed a number of airports in the north of the country on Thursday. By Thursday evening, Germany had closed Hamburg and Berlin airports.

An Iraqi airport has been closed for a week following a suspected terrorist plot to hijack an airliner and fly it into a Shia shrine. Najaf airport remains closed after reports were received by officials that a group of insurgents planned to carry out the attack on the Imam Ali shrine which is located in the city of Najaf.

Mercedes-Benz Financial has announced a six-month revenue for its iPhone application of $2.5 million.
The group, which claims to be the first automotive finance company to provide its customers with the mobility and flexibility of on-the-go account management, has generated the mobile business since last October’s launch.
Vice President of Marketing for Mercedes-Benz Financial, Andreas Hinrichs, said that the response to the initiative has been overwhelming. The convenience of being able to manage accounts via iPod touch or iPhone was, according to Hinrichs massively favourable.
