Ireland’s major tourist attractions have bought cash to the country’s economy and now draw more tourists as compared before. The Guinness Storehouse has drawn about 1,020,000 visitors last year, a huge boost as compared to the year before when visitor numbers had hit the million-mark for the first time.
Guinness spokesman Mark McGovern said that 2009 was a good year for the company, surpassing the number of visitors from 2008 even when the economy was in trouble. The centre has a total of 120 staffs during summer and 70 staffs all through the rest of the year. The centre is open [...]

Pensioners from the UK are continually burdened with high travel insurance costs based on their age. Those pensioners aged 65 and above, travelling inside Europe are the most hit, according to a research done online recently. The latest report of the UK high speed rail network issued by the Department for Transport (DfT) has been called into question by several groups, most notably Network Rail, who have queried the viability of any proposed plans that do not include Scotland.
Network Rail recently undertook their own studies into the DfT plan, throwing new light on common assumptions of the Y-shaped route map. The Chief Executive of TransUnion Auto Information Solutions, Mike von Hone, has declared that the recent and forecasted improvements in the new car market are being benefitted from a shortage in affordable, low-mileage, quality second-hand vehicles.
The ongoing shortage is likely to continue to bring down the ration of new to used vehicles well into 2010 as much of the automotive industry and greater travel industry begins to right itself from a disastrous 18 months.
