Ryanair keeps earlier axed Shannon routes

Minister Tony Killeen told that budget airline Ryanair had recently withdrawn its earlier decision to stop its flight services from Shannon to Liverpool and Edinburg. He said that Ryanair summer flights will continue to operate every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
Minister Killeen also confirmed Ryanair’s continued services to London Gatwick, Malaga, London Stansfed, Palma, Nantes, Wroclaw, Tenerife and Paris Beauvais until the end of summer 2010.
Killeen said that the growth of Shannon Airport depends on the services currently offered. He emphasized that Ryanair’s recent decision complements the UK’s domestic and transatlantic services currently being provided by Aer Lingus and Continental Airlines.

Jet2 and easyJet to add flights to Paphos

Low cost airliners easyJet and Jet2 made public their new plans to increase flights services in Paphos this summer season.
Starting 14 April, easyJet will inaugurate its latest flights servicing Bristol to Paphos with four flights a week, and Edinburgh to Paphos with two flights per week. Currently, easyJet has several flights from Paphos, but they fly to Stansted, Gatwick and Manchester. Meanwhile, Jet2’s Paphos flights will commence by May, with a once per week service from the Cypriot city to Newcastle and East Midlands.

Electric car hire from Sixt launches this week

The 4th of March will be a memorable day for hire car customers and the Sixt Rent A Car group alike, with the day marking the occasion of the London launch of the new electric car hire system.
The Fulham-Chelsea branch for Sixt will debut the environmentally friendly C1 Ev’ie vehicles from Citroen, meaning customers at the rental centre can choose between traditional favourites and the more eco-conscious alternate.

Portugal unveils first European alcohol free resort

The first completely alcohol-free resort has been opened in Portugal – with the target market recovering addicts.
The new initiative, the first in Europe, has been unveiled by travel group Renovatio and will be christened “Sober Holidays”. Offering a uniquely tailored approach to recovery not found elsewhere, visitors to the resort are promised a safe and supportive environment for which to assist in the recovery process.
