A new poll released by UK search engine operator Skyscanner has revealed that a healthy percentage of plane passengers are open to the possibility of passion in-flight, or at least some close-up cuddle time.
The survey was in response to the recently launched Skycouch from Air New Zealand, which allows a row of three seats to be converted into a bed for theoretically sleeping on during long-distance flights. Airflights.co.uk, the discount flight specialists, has warned British holidaymakers against making last minute car rental reservations this summer season.
Many travellers have a tendency to book flights first, then hotel accommodation. Car rental and ground transportation details are often vaguely researched but often never booked until days before required. This results in frequent shortages of not just vehicles but extras such as GPS systems and baby seats.

Rail traffic running from Belgium to France has been suspended following Monday’s horrific collision according to reports by SNCF, the French national railway operator.
The SNCF made the decision to allow rescue work to be undertaken by emergency teams. Though the closures are expected to only last the one day, the scale of the wreck has yet to be fully understood.
Some 10 lines were cancelled yesterday, including links that operate between the two countries under management of Eurostar, TGV and Thalys. TER regional trains were also suspended by authorities but refunds and exchanges have been made available for ticket holders.

Tui Travel, the largest tour operator in Europe, has announced that renewed interest in the travel market has forced them to schedule more holidays for the summer, with the resulting financial windfall hopefully signaling an end to the economic crisis which has plagued operators for the past year and a half.

Hertz Rent-A-Car, the world’s largest hire car company, has announced plans to roll out an all-electric car concept. The news comes with plans to make the Nissan Leaf electric vehicle available from a number of locations across the United States and Europe, with the first models scheduled for release as early as 2011.
Ideally placed for family outings within a 100-mile radius, the five-seater Nissan Leaf is predicted to become popular among shoppers and car sharing programs. Rental car fleets will be at the forefront of marketing as their usage can often dictate the role of a new vehicle.

Car rental organisation Sixt, which offers over 26,000 vehicles from more than 150 locations across Britain, has been declared to be a transparent and fair company by a new report which investigated eight leading car hire operators.
The new survey by Which? Holiday looked at the terms and conditions presented on the respective car rental websites in comparison to the actual cost of car hire while analyzing the transparency of the extras and waivers.

Major international car hire company Enterprise Rent A Car has announced the launch of a new three-year partnership with Call Zebra – the accident management organisation.
