TripAdvisor dirtiest hotels list sparked rage on hospitality industry

A recent report published by TripAdvisor is causing an alarm on the UK hospitality industry. The TripAdvisor’s Dirtiest Hotels list for the US was talk of the town recently that it made huge comments on the internet.
British Hospitality Association CEO Bob Cotton said that hotels across Europe are urging the EU Commission to alter the present rules governing website reviews. Cotton and other hospitality leaders’ goal is to make sure that reviews are legitimate and not just written by adversaries.

UK halts student visas for India, Nepal and Bangladesh

The UK Borders Agency, formerly known as the UK Immigration Service, has recently halted the application process for UK student visa from Nepal, Bangladesh and northern India after a remarkable increase in numbers and accusations of fraud.
The suspension order will be imposed for at least one month while backlog of applications is reviewed but the period will be extended if deemed necessary. In that period, all applications will be subjected to heavy examination.

Hertz car hire staff strike at Olympic site

The issue of finding a rental car at this Winter Olympics in Vancouver has become more serious following the decision by Hertz staff to man the picket lines on Tuesday this week.
According to the union representatives of the 51-strong group from Hertz Rental Cars the move to strike could result in significant disruptions in and around downtown locations in addition to the critical travel hub at Vancouver International Airport as the Canadian city gets set to host the winter spectacular.

Car hire companies can cope with Toyota recall

The fears of a massive global car shortage in the wake of Toyota’s massive recall have been somewhat placated by several of the major hire car operators announcing that they are up to the task of managing fleets to meet the need.
Tuesday saw leading operator Enterprise Holdings join other notable big names in declaring they can satisfy customer requirements in the aftermath of the recall and sales halt from the Japanese manufacturer.
