Low Budget Carriers Said to be Greener than Full Service Flights

As unlikely as it may sound, Ryanair and other low budget carriers could be offering more sustainable travel than other full service airlines. Although this may come as a shock to some people, experts are saying that this is not surprising at all.
These reports went on to say that low budget carriers produce up to 35 percent less carbon emissions per passenger than their full service counterparts. Experts say that this is due to many features, but most notably higher load factors and seat density.
This research, which was done by flight comparison website Liligo.co.uk, claims that a couple that is [...]

Hire car firms showing new signs of life

A corner is slowly being turned by hire car companies, even without the massive boost expected from the World Cup this year.

Fat tax rejected by Australian Airlines

The recent move by Air-France KLM to decide that overweight passengers will be, for safety reasons, charged with a so-called fat tax which will see them pay a further 75 percent of their original ticket cost (not inclusive of surcharges and taxes) for an extra seat will not be followed by Australian carriers Virgin and Qantas.
The Air France-KLM move now requires that larger passengers will be required to buckle themselves in across two seats. The new regulations will apply to all Air France-KLM flights from April 1st and to all tickets purchased after the 1st of February, with refunds provided [...]
