Emirates Airlines Announces New Tokyo Services

Emirates Airlines has just recently announced its plans to launch direct services to Tokyo, Japan’s capital city and one of the world’s foremost economic centers. Tokyo will now serve as Emirate Airlines’ 102nd international destination, following the recent launch of operations to Durban and Luanda in October of 2009. Now with the introduction of flights to Tokyo, Emirates will be able to offer two nonstop services between Japan and Dubai, as the airline already operates daily services to Osaka.
Emirates will fly nonstop to Tokyo five times a week on every Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday starting March 28, 210. [...]

Man Found Not Guilty of Raping age 18 Girl at Premier Inn Hotel

Reports have now come in that show a hotel night porter from Wolverhampton has been cleared of all rape and sexual assault charges after a jury decided a teenage mother had lied about him attacking her. The man, Charles Mukendu, age 34, had been accused of raping the 18 year old girl at the Premier Inn in the city center on August 9th of last year.
After the jury returned their decision just earlier this week, Mr Mukendu and his family reportedly dropped to their knees in the court and started to call out thanks to the members of the [...]

Aer Lingus Announces New Business Model

As a way to drag itself out of its financial troubles, Aer Lingus has just recently unveiled a new business model. The former state carrier is now branding itself as Ireland’s civilized airline as part of its plan to reposition itself between low cost Ryanair and full service British Airways. Thus, this could be the new airline for mid-class passengers.

Australia claims new UK flight tax is discriminatory

Simon Crean, the Australian Minister for Trade, has spoken out against the latest British tax hike on air travel, claiming that the new measures discriminate against those travellers bound for down under.
Since November last year the UK government has implemented air passenger duty increases under the guise of protecting the environment from harmful emissions which they claim can be off-set by price hikes by way of compensation. UK ferry travel numbers on the rise

The Passenger Shipping Association has released figures that indicate a marked rise in UK ferry passenger numbers as over 11.4 million trips were made across the UK last year. The increase, of around 1.4 percent against 2008 statistics, re-enforced the belief across the travel industry that staycationing was the biggest trend of 2009.
