Japan Airlines has now gained a new chief executive. This new CEO for Japan Airlines comes during the same week that the company saw its shares fall by more than 80 percent.
The new CEO of Japan Airlines, Kazuo Inamori, said that he accepted the position of CEO at Japan Airlines after he was asked to do so by the government. Inamori, is a corporate turnaround specialist with no background at all in aviation. He said that he would work about three to four days per week, and thus, would not be asking for any salary.

Airports in the UK are reporting falling numbers as many Brits are choosing simply to stay at home. Most of Britain’s major airports saw bad figures due to the fact that many people last year chose to only do vacation inside the UK. Thus, the airports carried 4.7 million passengers fewer than in 2008.

British travelers that are heading to America starting this week will be refused entry unless they have completed an electronic approval form issued by United States authorities before departure. The Electronic System for Travel Authorization scheme replaces the old arrangement whereby passengers needed to fill out a green card to enter the United States.

Accusations have been levelled at one of Britain’s leading rail operators, Go-Ahead, by the Transport Salaried Staff’s Association (TSSA) over what they claim are secret plans to raise fares on London service.
The transport union has accused the London-Midland operator of practically doubling its fares in and out of the capital for off-peak services.
