Boeing Sees Plane Orders Drop

Right now the low demand for travel is not only affecting airlines and airports, but companies that make planes too. Boeing has just recently said that its customers ordered just 142 commercial aircrafts last year, as the recession forced carriers to shrink their fleets. This now leaves Boeing neck and neck with its arch rival Airbus.
The net total reported just the other day by Boeing is the lowest that the company has reported since 2003 and just one tenth of the 1413 orders the company showed in 2007. Boeing delivered 481 commercial planes last year, which is up 28 percent [...]

Aer Lingus Announces More Route Cuts

The well known Irish carrier, Aer Lingus, is just one of the many airlines that have had to cut many routes in order to save money. However, it seems that the amount of routes that Aer Lignus has already cut is not enough, and the company is being forced to cut yet more Gatwick routes. These cuts come less than a year after it commenced flights from the London airport in the first place.

Heathrow Airport Sees Police Storm Emirates Plane

Apparently, armed police stormed a plane at London Heathrow Airport just recently due to fears of a terror threat. The police swarmed the Dubai-bound Emirates plane as it was taxiing on the tarmac before take off.
Passengers that were on the plane were terrified as they watched police, which were apparently armed with aromatic weapons, stormed the flight. Some witnesses say that they handcuffed the suspect, who was said to be a white male, and got him off the aircraft quickly. There were also reports of another individual being arrested as well.

Police Launch Campaign to Increase Car Hire Safety in New Zealand

Police have launched a new campaign to encourage foreign drivers visiting to New Zealand to use caution in the wake of several deaths over the summer involving foreign tourists holidaying from Europe. The reason for the deaths is expected as exhaustion as tourists tend to drive long stretches while on holiday.
Especially in the southern part of the country, police are urging motorists to keep to the indicated speed limit particularly in visitor centric areas citing locations such as Milford Sound and Queenstown.
