British Insurance Companies Lighten Up on Visiting Kashmir

It now seems that British insurance companies are finally starting to give cover to tourists who are wishing to visit Kashmir. Earlier, the insurance companies in the UK were not giving any cover to British tourists to this area due to the advisory issues by the country. J&K tourism minister, Nawang Rigzin Jora, said that this shows some kind of softening on the British stand.

UK Workers Could Travel Three Hours to Find Work

According to one website, Simply Hired, the recession has pushed employees into traveling far out of their way to look for work. In fact, some studies even suggest that some Brits could be traveling more than three hours each way to work in order to protect their jobs.
The poll taken by Simply Hired also showed that 56 percent of respondents said they would be willing to take an increase in vacation entitlement rather than a pay rise to help keep company costs down. UK workers are doing everything in their power to make themselves more desirable to businesses.

Pontins Gets £5 Million Upgrade

New plans have just recently been unveiled for an ice and roller skating rink for one of the best known holiday parks, Pontins. This is part of the £5 million revamp that the park is getting.
A new village square complex and a fairground are also part of this upgrade. This upgrade is going to create 300 permanent and 200 construction jobs over the next three to five years. The latest offering sees the online specialist team up with both Easyjet and British Airways to provide a range of new promotions for British cities. US car hire companies recall troubled Toyotas

Rental firms in the US have heaped yet more misery on the troubled car manufacturer after announcing the withdrawal of eight models from their hire fleets until repairs are made to over 3 million cars.
On Wednesday, Toyota issued a recall for 1.1 million vehicles owing to an existing floor mat recall. The timing could not have been worse given Toyota has recently recalled another 2.3 million vehicles over sudden acceleration issues. Wednesday further saw statements issues from three leading hire car operators of their decision to pull the eight models which themselves have been mired by poor sales figures.

Emirates Airlines Announces New Tokyo Services

Emirates Airlines has just recently announced its plans to launch direct services to Tokyo, Japan’s capital city and one of the world’s foremost economic centers. Tokyo will now serve as Emirate Airlines’ 102nd international destination, following the recent launch of operations to Durban and Luanda in October of 2009. Now with the introduction of flights to Tokyo, Emirates will be able to offer two nonstop services between Japan and Dubai, as the airline already operates daily services to Osaka.
Emirates will fly nonstop to Tokyo five times a week on every Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday starting March 28, 210. [...]

Man Found Not Guilty of Raping age 18 Girl at Premier Inn Hotel

Reports have now come in that show a hotel night porter from Wolverhampton has been cleared of all rape and sexual assault charges after a jury decided a teenage mother had lied about him attacking her. The man, Charles Mukendu, age 34, had been accused of raping the 18 year old girl at the Premier Inn in the city center on August 9th of last year.
After the jury returned their decision just earlier this week, Mr Mukendu and his family reportedly dropped to their knees in the court and started to call out thanks to the members of the [...]

The former state carrier is now branding itself as Ireland’s civilized airline as part of its plan to reposition itself between low cost Ryanair and full service British Airways. Australia claims new UK flight tax is discriminatory

Simon Crean, the Australian Minister for Trade, has spoken out against the latest British tax hike on air travel, claiming that the new measures discriminate against those travellers bound for down under.
Since November last year the UK government has implemented air passenger duty increases under the guise of protecting the environment from harmful emissions which they claim can be off-set by price hikes by way of compensation.
