Dubai Finally Sees an end to Debt Crisis

Apparently Dubai has finally seen an end to its debt crisis, according to the foreign minister of the United Arab Emirates. Abu Dhabi’s $10 billion bailout of this struggling neighbor was proof of the national unity, said Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahayan

Flyglobespan Passengers Offered Support

Apparently two phone lines have been set up to help deal with the huge number of passengers that have been affected by the big collapse of the Globespan Group. One part of this group, Flyglobespan, has left many people stranded overseas.
So far, more than 8,000 calls have come from passengers who have been left stranded abroad or are waiting for news in Scotland following the collapse of the group. British Airways May be Looking at Another Strike Threat in the New Year

British Airways could be looking at a new strike threat in the new year, according to union bosses. This message comes as the planned 12 day walkout over Christmas was considered illegal at the end of last week. The Unite union said that it would ballot crew members again in the New Year.

Eurostar weekend suspensions to continue today

There will be no Eurostar services today – for the third day running – as Eurostar continues to undertake a range of tests and upgrades on its train fleets.
Today will see a continued cancellation of services as weatherproofing upgrades continue after five trains have broken down over the weekend. Thousands of passengers were trapped inside the Channel Tunnel in freezing conditions on Friday and Saturday.

Unite Union suffers internal fractures in ongoing BA strike bid

Unite’s ongoing determination to hold a new ballot for their proposed strike has raised speculation in press sectors that the union is facing massive internal disruptions.
The union announced the ballot would be retaken in the New Year, following the emergency injunction by the high court to ban the 12-day strike that was planned for Tuesday. Such a halt would have created huge misery for close to 1 million travelers this Christmas.
