British Airways Announces its November Traffic and Capacity Numbers

It now seems that British Airways has come out and announced its November 2009 passenger capacity and traffic statistics. Apparently the passenger capacity, which is measured in available seat kilometers, was down by 6.2 percent when compared to November of 2008. On that same note, traffic, which is measured in revenue passenger kilometers, fell by 4.3 percent compared to 2008 as well.

Aer Lingus Now Says that it Will Move its Dublin Base to the UK

It now seems that Aer Lingus has made a threat to shift its operations from Dublin to Gatwick and Belfast. This news came just after the talks to cut pilots’ wages finally broke down. This move would see hundreds of further compulsory redundancies as the carrier fights to save money.

Malaysia May Get Legoland Park in 2012

It now seems that a new Legoland theme park is set to open in Malaysia in 2012. Right now this park is said to cost around 700 million ringgit, or 206 million dollars. This new announcement is a big deal, because it means that Malaysia would get its Legoland theme park a year ahead of schedule.
The president and chief executive office for Iskandar Investment Berhad, Arlida Ariff, said that the theme park will cover 26 hectares in Johor state, which does neighbor Singapore. Right now it is slated to be open in April of 2012.

Boasting binge drinking Lord banned from driving

24-year-old Viscount St Cyres, the wealthy young aristocrat who made online boasts about his drinking exploits has found himself banned from driving after being caught for the second time drink-driving.
The ex-public school student, real name Thomas Northcote, had made numerous posts on social networking sites with photos accompanied by comments saying he was drunk as a Lord. Included among his regular updates were posts saying he had been drinking too much gin and that in itself was nothing new.

Drink driving limit to be reviewed

The UK government is investigating the possibility of lowering the legal limit for drink-driving. British Transport Secretary Lord Adonis has commissioned Sir Peter North to provide advice on the issue as well as investigating the possibility of stricter controls on drug-driving.
The present legal limit for drink-driving is an alcohol level of 80mg per 100ml of blood but recent support has been behind the lowering of this level to 50mg.
