It now seems that the new owners of Gatwick Airport are set to eliminate long check ins and security queues as a top priority of taking control. As of right now, Gatwick Airport is the second largest airport in all of Britain.
Global Infrastructure Partners, is the company that is set to buy Gatwick Airport for £1.5 billion. The deal is set to be closed by the end of this week. It is just subject to European Commission approval, but experts are not worried about the deal going through.

It seems that Gulf Air’s chief commercial officer has just recently reaffirmed the carrier’s commitment to Europe. This news comes just following the announcement of its brand new strategic direction, which aims to make Gulf Air a sustainable and profitable business by 2012. The carrier says that it will be focusing on international networks and a simplified, more modern fleet.

It now seems that the Dubai government has come forward and noted that there will be no bailout for its subsidiary Dubai World. This has, of course, sparked fears in many of the creditors that have invested money into Dubai World. Right now the subsidiary is hugely indebted, and creditors could lose billions.
The announcement comes from the director general of Dubai’s Department of Finance, Abdulrahman al Saleh. He went on to simply say that the country did not have enough money to repay Dubai World’s debts of $60 billion.

Sixt AG, one of the leading mobility service providers in Europe and Germany’s largest rental car organisation, has announced another firm quarter of demand in the third quarter of 2009 in spite of the still unstable economic climate.
The Sixt group also recorded a clear financial improvement on comparison to the first two quarters of 2009, with a quarterly profit of EUR 23 million representing a rise of 8.6% on the previous year. The consolidated before tax profit (EBT) was comparable to the EUR 30.1 million recorded in the prior-year quarter.

In what has been compared to a Clockwork Orange-style sexual attack, a British couple have been terrorised, drugged and raped on the resort island of Koh Chang.
The unnamed couple, one a government employee and the other a businessman, had decided on the Thai holiday island as the end of their one year sabbatical holiday. They have fled Thailand after being subjected to the attack by what is believed to be a gang that preys on foreign tourists.
