It now seems that Gulf Air has come up with a new strategy that they want to use to help turn the airline into a commercially sustainable business by 2012. The overall strategy will focus on expanding its network with 20 new networks and upgrading its fleet size. Of course, the airline will cut up to fifteen other routes and even close some overseas offices in a bid to curb its losses.

According to Gordon Brown, their could be a new direct rail link that will run between London and Amsterdam. The Channel Tunnel rail firm will be commissioned to lay out some new routes beyond Paris, Brussels, and Lille with the German city of Cologne and the Dutch cultural capital among those due to be linked to London. As of right now the plans are set to begin in just a few weeks.

It seems now, after the planned merger between British Airways and Iberia made head way, that Willie Walsh, the chief executive of British Airways, seems to think that merger talks with Qantas could be restarted. A planned merger between the two airlines had fallen through just last year after the two carriers were unable to agree over terms.

World representatives are uniting this week in the Russian capital of Moscow in an effort to minimise the number of global road deaths. It is hoped that actions taken by united world governments, taking place on Thursday, could mean up to 5 million lives are saved on the world’s roads.
The inaugural Global Ministerial Summit on Road Safety will urge delegates to agree on plans aimed at a decade of action, with the stated goal being a 50 percent reduction in road deaths by the year 2020.
