It seems like the battle between Oneworld Alliance and SkyTeam has finally reached a boiling point over Japan Airlines. This news comes as Delta Airlines, a member of SkyTeam, has now offered the struggling Japan Airlines a $1 billion incentive to leave the Oneworld Alliance and come over to SkyTeam.

According to reports, the French low cost carrier, Air Austral, has now placed the first orders for an A380 configured plane that is designed to carry more than 800 passengers. These two economy only jets will fly from Paris to the French island of Reunion in the Indian Ocean with 840 passengers on board the double decker aircraft.

It now seems that the travel technology provider Amadeus has launched a tool that it claims will reinvent the way that people search for their travel. The Amadeus Affinity Shopper will enable travelers to search on airline websites by their desired travel experience rather than putting in a specific destination or price bracket.

Boston’s cruise business has once again set a new record for passenger numbers, making this the third consecutive year it has done so.
The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) announced today that Boston’s Black Falcon Cruise Terminal has so far hosted 299, 736 cruise passengers in the year to date, up by a huge 11% from last year.

This week Cardiff Airport has introduced a new facial recognition gates. These revolutionary new machines scan passengers’ faces and compare them to the digital photographs in their passports.
The gates have been installed in the arrivals lounge and are expected to dramatically improve airport security and create peace of mind for all passengers. Run on partnership between the UK Border Agency and Cardiff Airport, this voluntary system is being tried out at a total of 10 different airports throughout the UK, including London Stansted, Manchester and Bristol.
