EasyJet has now warned other airlines that a tough winter is ahead of them. This announcement came after the airline showed that it had a 65 percent slump in annual pretax profits. The carrier, which is based in Luton, has cited its fall in profits is due to the deep fall in demand from increased unemployment rates. Many people are not traveling right now in order to save money.

New reports have come in that Flydubai has selected Goodrich Corporation’s Aircraft Wheels and Brakes business to supply its wheels and carbon breaks for its brand new fleet of 54 Boeing Next Generation 737-800 aircrafts. This selection it said to be worth about $22 million in revenue over the life of the contract, which does include after market support.
Aircraft deliveries with Goodrich wheel and brakes equipment are expected to be delivered to Flydubai in March of 2010 and continue through 2013. The wheels and carbon breaks will use Goodrich’s DURACARB carbon material. This is able to provide a weight savings [...]

It now seems that Aer Lingus is expected to announce even more job cuts. This announcement came just after the carrier concluded its talks with trade unions. This is all part of the airline’s plans to make $100 million in cost cuts.
Just last week, Aer Lingus, revealed that its revenues fell by 10 percent in the last quarter compared with the same time frame in 2008. Industry analysts are a little worried about how fast the company is burning through cash.

For the sixth year in a row Enterprise Rent-A-Car has topped the US Car Rental Satisfaction Study published by J. D. Power and Associates.
The iconic study, which is now into its 15th year, calculated nearly 13,000 evaluations from a range of leisure and business customers who booked hire cars from airport locations across the US in the past 12 months.
The criteria used to measure satisfaction included fees and costs, the vehicle itself, the pick-up and return process, the reservation process and also whether there were transfers from the arrivals gate to the hire depot.

Avis Europe has issued a warning to its customers that the bargain buys seen in 2009 will not likely continue as the future forecast is for lower demand.
