The Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, which manages, promotes and helps develop tourism in the Arabian Gulf, has now been voted the World’s Leading Tourist Board. It won this title in the biggest polling undertaken in the World Travel Awards in its 16 year history. Almost 180,000 industry professionals voted in the poll.

It now seems that Cyprus is hoping to motivate more tourists by opening up an ultra modern airport. It hopes that this new airport will help with falling tourist numbers and maybe even boost the island’s prospects of it becoming a regional transport hub.
The Cypriot president, Demetris Christofias, opened the new Larnaca terminal. It was built by a consortium of French and Cypriot companies. The opening of the new terminal attracted some 2,000 people, including the French European Affairs Minister Pierre Lellouche.

Reports now show that the huge decrease in demand for hotels and air travel is predicted to increase for most parts of the world by 2010. Although these low rates have not ended just yet, recent reports show that it will be ending soon.
Out of all the places where fares are set in rise, China and India are among the highest. In the American Express Travel Forecast, which was released November 9th, they show that each countries’ air fares will rise about five percent. However, hotel rates are set to increase as well.
