It now appears that Bmi has formed a new codeshare agreement with Continental Airlines. This new deal allows Bmi to sell tickets to United States destinations served by Continental Airlines from five UK airports. This new agreement comes just after Continental Airlines became a member of the Star Alliance.
This new deal allows Bmi to sell tickets to Newark Liberty International Airport and George Bush Intercontinental Airport from Heathrow, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, and Brussels. The Unite union is all set to ballot its British Airways cabin staff members on strike action. Reports show that the preparations for the vote are already in the advanced stages. This is a very big ballot for many people all over the UK. If the cabin crew votes for a strike, then it will take place around Christmas time. This means that many holidaymakers could find their holiday travel plans ruined.

It now seems that British Airways finds itself with a £3 million fine after apparently pleading guilty to taking part in a cartel that fixed prices on air cargo in Canada. However, this is not the first time that British Airways has been slapped with one of these kinds of charges. Back in July of 2007, British Airways was fined £121.5 million for a cartel involving surcharges on passenger fares.

BA passengers may be facing interruptions to their Christmas holiday plans following the backing of industrial action by cabin crew members yesterday.
In the wake of BA’s recent cost cutting initiatives a rally was held which attracted around 2,500 members of the Unite union who voiced their displeasure at the tightening of the company’s purse strings. The rally members said the represented the core of middle England and would take action to prevent job losses and changes to working conditions.
