Child pornography fears lead to nude X-ray ban at Manchester Airport

The controversial new ‘nude x-ray’ system has been banned from use on minors at Manchester Airport’s Terminal two, following fears that the machines produce revealing images of children under the age of 18.
Launched amid much fanfare at the airport last week the system involves a series of electromagnetic waves passed through an individual’s clothing inside a booth. Designed to detect hidden weapons in the war against terrorism, the images are then recreated on monitors viewed by airport security staff.

Olympics in London May Not Boost Tourism

It now seems that some new figures from the Office of National Statistics, are showing that the Olympics may not offer the boost in tourism that London is hoping for. The figures go on to show a 10 percent fall in visits to the UK by foreign tourists. Thus, the Olympics, which London was hoping would help boost their tourism during a time of great need, may not be able to help shoot life back into the economy.

Foreign Currency Proves to be a Confusing Subject to UK Football Fans

According to Post Office research, UK football fans seem to have a little confusion when it comes to travel money. The research shows that 90 percent of football fans are unsure about what countries use the euro and which ones use other types of foreign currency.

Hertz car hire in major corporate revamp

Hertz has announced a forthcoming makeover to its corporate identity with customers set to see a whole new side to the rental car giant.
2010 will see Hertz undertake a range of new marketing initiatives which include a new brand identity, corporate logo, modern uniforms and an array of new vehicles. In addition, the group is also scheduled to remodel its hire depots to complete the major facelift.

CVC Turns Away From Big National Express Deal

It now seems that CVC Capital Partners has choose not to turn in a £765 million bill for the acquisition of the UK travel Operator National Express. CVC, which is a private equity firm, was expected to make a formal offer for the company recently, but instead just walked away from the deal. CVC also happens to be the biggest current shareholder in National Express.
Rumors that CVC may be looking into picking up National Express had started back in late July. This happened when CVC teamed up with the Cosmen Family to discuss a deal with National Express.
