Channel Tunnel trains boosted by increase in passenger numbers

British holidaymakers, keen to avoid airline costs and rising fuel prices over the summer, saw rail operator Eurostar experience and unexpected surge in business.
Officials from the Channel Tunnel train organisation further increased passenger traffic with significantly discounted last minute offers, the most notable of which was the £59 return deal.
These factors combined to result in an 8% increase in journeys to the continent over recent months, despite the weakened pound making European vacations slightly more expensive

British Airways is Urged by Unions to Avoid Job Cuts

As many have already heard, the talks between the Unite union and the carrier British Airways are underway again. Apparently the union is urging British Airways to avoid job cuts. After the meeting took place, Unite union said that the ball was now in British Airways’ court. Further meetings are already planned between the British Airways boss, Willie Walsh, and the union for next week.

Driver could face charges for splashing children

A motorist is legal action for intentionally driving through a puddle and splashing a group of school students.

Bmibaby Teams up with Germanwings

It now seems that bmibaby and Germanwings have teamed up together to list flights on their websites. Under this brand new agreement, the two well known low cost carriers will be able to list each other’s flights on their website. This new tie-up will actually make 42 destinations available to would-be passengers.

Eurostar Finally Sees Signs of Recovery

It now appears that Eurostar may finally be seeing some signs of recovery. In total, 2.6 million passengers have used the service that the company provides in this quarter. This is compared to the 2.4 million a year ago. The sales are believed to be helped out by the growth in the leisure market. However, there has been a bottoming out in the business travel market as well.
